# Method:
01 - Set the oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
03 - Gradually mix in the flour until the dough is soft and crumbly.
04 - Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently just until it comes together.
05 - Roll the dough to about ½ inch thickness and cut into rectangles, rounds, or preferred shapes.
06 - Place shaped dough pieces on the baking sheet, spaced approximately 1 inch apart.
07 - Use a fork to prick each cookie a few times to create the traditional shortbread texture.
08 - Bake for 18–22 minutes until the edges are just beginning to turn golden without browning.
09 - Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
