Instructions

Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line two 20 cm (8-inch) round cake pans with parchment paper.
Step 2:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3:
In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.
Step 4:
Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the wet ingredients, beginning and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
