Save A vibrant and inviting platter featuring a selection of cured meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, and crunchy maple-glazed nuts—perfect for sharing at gatherings.
I was inspired to make this charcuterie board after hosting a small party where guests loved having so many delicious bites to choose from. The maple-glazed nuts quickly became a favorite addition for incredible crunch and flavor.
Ingredients
- Maple Glazed Nuts: 1 cup mixed nuts (pecans, walnuts, almonds, or cashews), 2 tbsp pure maple syrup, 1 tbsp unsalted butter, 1/2 tsp sea salt, 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper (optional)
- Meats: 100 g prosciutto, 100 g salami, 100 g coppa or soppressata
- Cheeses: 150 g brie cheese, 100 g sharp cheddar, 100 g blue cheese, 100 g goat cheese
- Fresh & Dried Fruit: 1 cup seedless grapes, 1/2 cup dried apricots, 1/2 cup figs (halved), 1 apple (sliced), 1/2 cup pomegranate arils (optional)
- Accompaniments: 1/2 cup olives (green or black), 1/4 cup cornichons or gherkins, 1/2 cup honey or fruit preserves, 1–2 types of crackers or crostini (gluten-free if needed)
Instructions
- Prepare the Maple Glazed Nuts:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, toss nuts with maple syrup, melted butter, salt, and cayenne pepper. Spread the nuts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 8–10 minutes, stirring once, until golden and fragrant. Cool completely.
- Arrange the Charcuterie Board:
- Place cheeses on the board, cutting some into slices or wedges for easy serving. Arrange meats in folds or rolls around the cheeses. Add piles of grapes, apple slices, dried fruit, and pomegranate arils. Fill small bowls with olives, cornichons, and preserves or honey. Scatter the cooled maple glazed nuts over the board. Add crackers or crostini last to prevent them from getting soggy.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate cheese and meats until ready to serve. Bring to room temperature before serving for best flavor.
