Fig Brie Arugula Grilled Cheese (Printable)

Creamy Brie and sweet fig preserves combine with fresh arugula for a melted delight on sourdough.

# Components:

→ Bread & Dairy

01 - 4 slices sourdough bread
02 - 4 oz Brie cheese, sliced
03 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

→ Fruits & Greens

04 - 2 tablespoons fig preserves
05 - 1 cup fresh arugula

→ Optional

06 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

# Method:

01 - Spread one side of each slice of bread evenly with softened butter.
02 - Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, on a clean surface and evenly spread 1 tablespoon of fig preserves on each.
03 - Layer sliced Brie evenly over the preserves, then top with a generous handful of fresh arugula.
04 - Place the remaining bread slices on top, butter-side up, to form sandwiches.
05 - Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat until warm.
06 - Place sandwiches on the skillet and cook 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
07 - Remove from heat, let rest for 1 minute, then slice and serve optionally topped with freshly ground black pepper.
